As a filmmaker, I had the opportunity to attend the Cannes Film Festival a couple of years ago. I was very impressed with the organization and along with the glamor and quality of the festival, I realized they had an immense respect for the film community. And for these reasons, I created the NYCIFF with the purpose to discover new and talented filmmakers and to promote established ones from the U.S. and around the world. I want to give them a high-profile platform in New York.
